Cafe de las Lenguas is organized every week in Groningen (the Netherlands). This initiative supports offline and online language exchanges.
How does it work?
Every Thursday evening from 7-9pm you'll find different language tables. Choose a language table and start practising your language skills. After a while, you can switch tables and join another table.
Watch the video below that was created by the Hanze University of Applied Sciences.
What topics can you talk about?
That's up to you! You can talk about lots of things. Get to know each other first. Introduce yourself. Where do you come from? What are your hobbies? When you want to really improve your oral skills according to the CEFR, you can think of other topics. Have a look at the Seagull project to get inspired.
Cafe de las Lenguas
It was founded by Jeroen van Engen in 2008 in Maastricht (the Netherlands). Nowadays, its primary aim is to facilitate language exchanges by organizing a weekly language cafe in Groningen (the Netherlands). There is also an active Facebook group, open to anyone who is interested in language learning. Cafe de las Lenguas is closely linked with the University of Groningen Language Centre.
Where to find us?
